About The Film
According to the World Health Organization, by 2025 – six short years from now – half of the global population will face water scarcity. Meet three Israeli innovators working with partners across the globe – in Uganda, India, and even the United States, where successive droughts threaten the livelihood of Californian farmers – to bring water to those communities and sustainable water solutions to an increasingly thirsty planet. Using high-tech crop monitoring, solar energy, and biological "green lung" filtration systems, these international collaborations show that it is possible to clean, conserve, and channel water to where it is needed most. This is eye-opening cinema with the cautiously hopeful message that cooperation and innovation can begin to reverse the ecological damage to the Earth. Fixing global water issues is not only a matter of life and death; it is the start of healing the world. SUSTAINABLE NATION first screened at the 2019 Seattle Jewish Film Festival.
