2017 SJFF Box Office Job Description

The Stroum Jewish Community Center's Cultural Arts Department seeks Seattle Jewish Film Festival (SJFF) Box Office Staff Members to be a part of this highly anticipated community and cultural arts event. SJFF is a cornerstone of SJCC’s community building mission and a cinematic celebration of global Jewish and Israeli life, history, complexity and culture for everyone. Box Office Staff Members will experience a variety of tasks and responsibilities to support the film festival. Candidates will oversee ticket sales and more during the festival at our film screening venues (AMC Pacific Place, SIFF Uptown and SJCC). This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a whirlwind week in film running from March 25-April 2. Times will consist of mostly afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with ticket sales/processing at SJCC and at on site venue box office (AMC and SIFF Uptown)
  • Check that online ticketing system (Vendini) is connected (via Wi-Fi) and ready for sales prior to opening
  • Learn and understand the Vendini ticketing system (Training will be provided)
  • Print out and organize will call sales before each screening
  • Facilitate ticket sales within the computerized system
  • Update computer system for each show with passes used and tickets sold to reflect accurate seat count and report to House Manager/Box Office Manager if we are close to selling out
  • Manage cash and credit card sales and ensure security of all box office cash/credit and tickets
  • Reconcile sales after start of shows
  • Assist customers with questions about shows/events and offer sales to screenings and events
  • Keep box office clean and organized
  • Update box office signage as needed
  • Prepare cash deposit

Special Qualifications:

  • Comfortable with using computer/laptop
  • Excellent customer service and professionalism
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and calmly with attention to detail at times of high volume sales
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
