Man is a Woman Man Is A Woman

Jean Jacques-Zilbermann, Director

French box-office sensation Man is a Woman is a breezy and bittersweet film reminiscent of Ang Lee’s The Wedding Banquet. In this Jewish version, it is a gay klezmer virtuoso who must chose between his own desires and those of his family. When his uncle offers him 10 million francs to marry and produce an heir, Simon angrily rejects the offer. But after being evicted from his apartment, he moves in with Rosalie (Elsa Zylberstein, star of Mina Tannenbaum), a New York-born Orthodox Jew who has fallen for him and his clarinet. A charming dramatic comedy addressing the search for love and self-understanding.
