BAGEL AND FILM BRUNCH
SHTICK, SCHMALTZ,
AND SHTEREOTYPES
Come "trip the
lights sarcastic" and join us for a program of Jewish shticks and
schmaltz: short comic classics that are among the best of the best of Max
Davidson, Eddie Cantor, Burns and Allen, and Jack Benny, to name just a
few. This program also includes some shtereotypes, too: short animated
films that present and promote negative stereotypes of Jews and other
immigrant groups. Film distributor Murray Glass, who has toured the
country with these films, will introduce the program.
