CAFÉ
NOAH
After its independence in 1948, Jewish musicians from Baghdad and Cairo immigrated to Israel. They were masters in Arabic music, but their gifts were undervalued in their new homeland. Café Noah was the one place their music found its audience. A reunion concert at the site of the old cafe celebrates this extraordinary legacy.
Screening with Taqasim.
Special musical guest: Dunya Turkish Musical Trio
Israel, 1996, 27 min. Hebrew w/subtitles Duki Dror, Director
