ANNA'S SUMMER
A sensual, visually stunning exploration of identity,
exile, and forbidden love. Anna, a 50-year-old photojournalist, returns
to the picturesque Greek island of her childhood to close a chapter of her
life, and in the process unexpectedly begins a new one. Memories,
secrets,
recipes and ghosts from the past begin to surface: odysseys
of exile and deportation,
unrequited love,
and the stubborn
survival
of family ties.
As she confronts the multiple stories that form her own life
story, Anna recognizes her love for her family home, and realizes that we
are lucky indeed if the ghosts that haunt us are friendly ones.
