Fiddler Sing-along

wpe14.gif (123244 bytes)

"Without our tradition, our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof!"  One of the last great Hollywood musicals, Fiddler on the Roof is as vital and electrifying now as it was when it first opened in 1971.  Based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem, this rousing classic revolves around the ever-resourceful Tevye, a dairyman in Anatevka, a small Jewish village in pre-revolutionary Russia.  Juggling the demands of his wife, his daughters, his village, and his god, Tevye attempts to preserve his family's traditions in the face of a changing world.  Enhanced by stunning cinematography, a comedic, soulful performance by Topol, hauntingly beautiful strains from Isaac Stern's violin, and wonderful songs that move the story from light-hearted to heart wrenching, Fiddler on the Roof captures the universal struggle to preserve faith, family, and friendship.
