Time of Favor

Winner of six Israeli Academy Awards including Best Picture, Time of Favor is a gripping thriller that transcends genre and stereotypes, taking the viewer inside the Orthodox world that director Joseph Cedar knows firsthand. Pini, a brilliant young settler, takes the teachings of his charismatic rabbi literally, and masterminds a plot to blow up the Dome of the Rock mosque on the Temple Mount. Menachem, the commanding officer of an Orthodox soldier's combat unit, and Pini’s best friend, is unknowingly drawn into this web of intrigue. He finds himself torn between his loyalty to his rabbi, his duty as a commanding officer and his love for the rabbi's daughter. While battling to prove his innocence, Menachem is forced to weigh his alliances, his conscience, and indeed everything he has ever believed in.
