The Komediant

A highly entertaining look at the extraordinary history of Yiddish theater through the tale of one marvelous family -- Pesach'ke Burstein, his wife Lillian Lux, and their talented children.  Director Arnon Goldfinger charts the troupe on its amazing journey from Europe, through Israel and South America, all the way to New York's Second Avenue. Brimming with the treasures of Yiddish culture, music and song, The Komediant interweaves rare clips from dramatic films, musicals and home movies. The Film doubles as an epic family saga, exploring the conflict between the lure of the stage and the confines of home.

This matinee screening will be free for seniors.
