Welcome to
the 6th annual Seattle Jewish film festival!
For centuries, people have learned about Jewish life in black and
white.
But when projected through the lens of modern filmmakers, the richness of
Jewish heritage takes on whole new dimensions.
Once a year the American Jewish Committee adopts the magic of film to
create a spectacular 8-day celebration of Jewish experiences from around
the world: the Seattle Jewish Film Festival (SJFF). In 2001, we will
celebrate our 6th Year of bringing the best films with Jewish themes to
Seattle, March 10--18.
As the festival has grown, so has recognition of our community wide
impact. In 1999 the Seattle Times named SJFF as one of just two
not-to-be-missed “big impact” film events for all of 1999. This year the
festival is being welcomed by Vulcan, Inc. into the historic Cinerama Theater
increasing our visibility and reinforcing our stature as the premiere
Jewish Cultural event in the Greater Seattle area. In fact, SJFF has grown
to become the largest annual Jewish community event in the Northwest.
Please join us in sharing the simcha, shtick and
shpilkes of Jewish Culture!
