Hana Vazana, a religious woman in her 60s, leaves Dimona to visit her son Menahem, who is locked up in solitary confinement, charged with revealing state secrets. Despite family opposition, she sets out to reconcile Menahem with his dying father. Along the way, fraught with obstacles, Hana joins up with a Bedouin youth who helps her learn the truth about her son and about herself, and achieve independence for the first time in her life. A most unusual road movie with an ending that will leave you in tears. |
