Paris, 1946. Albert and Lea survived the horrors of the war and are now trying to pick up the pieces. To reestablish his tailor shop, Albert hires new workers. Melancholic Charles is mourning his wife who did not survive. Leon and Jacqueline are busy making more and more kids in order to fill the void. Young Maurice can’t seem to sustain a long-term relationship, while Joseph is kept on at the shop despite his two left hands. While all of them initially refuse to discuss their experiences during the war, they all also eventually realize that the only way to truly move forward with the rest of their lives is to come to terms with their pasts. This charming, gentle, intelligent drama is one of the highlights of the festival.
